friday night i had the pleasure of taking little DD to see Pretty Lights at the Wiltern in LA. it was an amazing performance all around. grammatik and kraddy did a great job warming up the crowd for what seemed like a five hour dance party - i actually don't know how long Pretty Lights was on because I didn't touch my phone the entire time.. yes, it was that good. a member of Jurassic 5 joined Derek on stage for a bit which was also awesome. the crowd was fun and DD was impressed :) happy to know I enlightened my lil bro with some amazing music!

theres really no way to categorize this music. I tried to explain it to a friend as alternative electronic, funkadelic, soulful techno, often mellow, sometimes with heavy bass. the best part about Pretty Lights is that derek thinks all music should be available on a 'pay what you can' basis. enjoy it here, and if you like it give em some cash! a couple songs that were especially amazing/memorable:
- if i could feel again - get to around 1:05 at least, before you make your mind up on this one :)
- after midnight - basically the reason I wanted to see them on NYE...
- total fascination - opened the show with this one, sooo good!
- the time has come - amazing live!
